The arrival of NEON – NECA’s curated AI platform.
NECA (the National Electrical and Communications Association) is a fundamental advocate for the electrical industry. Part of the support that NECA offers is an extensive range of resources and knowledge for NECA industry members.
With progress and proactive engagement front of mind, in April this year NECA were proud to launch a new AI platform called, Neon.
NEON is the brainchild of the NECA board, and after years in the making, this platform offers an elevated level of support for the electrical and communications industry.
All NECA members have complimentary access to the NEON platform.
What is the NEON AI platform?
Neon is an AI powered central resource of curated information, specific to the Australian Electrical and Communications industry. Unlike other open-source AI platforms, NEON has been built in consultation with the NECA board, which means the information offered comes from a reliable and accurate knowledge source.
Why is the NEON platform important?
NECA’s primary goal is to advocate for both industry employers and employees, to ensure everyone in the industry has access to knowledge that allows a fair, safe and compliant work environment.
NECA has always offered resources for Workplace relations and HR specifically for the Electrical Industry, but now with NEON, this information will be easier to access. With one short prompt, NEON will scan the entire NECA resource base, and direct you to the most suitable information.
What can I access on NEON?
NECA have loaded information such as all regulations & Acts onto the NEON database, which means that employers and employees can ask questions about their rights, and be given resources for their specific state or circumstance.
Technical and OH&S Regulations can be constantly changing and updating, so by having an AI platform that keeps track of this information, you can be assured that all information you seek will be relevant and current.
Who can access NEON?
The best part about NEON is that is it free and available to all NECA members. When you use your access details to log on to the NECA website, you will now see the link for NEON. By clicking on NEON you will be able to type in your question and be given relevant documentation and information, in real time.

Do I need to be a NECA member to access NEON?
No! Any business owner who employs staff can utilise the vital resources on NEON; it’s not just for the electrical industry.
For any non-NECA members who would like to gain access to the NEON platform, simply contact the NECA office and ask about access.
The NEON platform has universal resources such as HR & Employment Regulations as well as OHS & Tech. Regulations, that are specific to the state where you operate.
So, if you are an employer, in any industry, who has a question about Workplace Relations, Employment Law, or Industrial Relations, the NEON platform is your one source of current, and jurisdiction specific information.
