Meet, Mel (Chatfield OzCool Service Controller)
At the start of the New Year, we welcomed a new face to the Chatfield OzCool office. If you have booked in a service job in the past 8 months, chances are, you’ve already spoken to our new Service Controller.
This month, we wanted to take the opportunity for formally introduce you to our fabulous new Service Controller – Mel.
Mel started at Chatfield OzCool in January 2025, after hearing about the role through Chatfield OzCool Accounts guru – Helen.
Mel was looking for a new opportunity when Helen mentioned that there was a position available at Chatfield OzCool. Once Mel learned more about the role, she knew it was the right position for her.
When asking Mel what part of her Service Controller role she most enjoys, she mentioned “I enjoy being part of a team and connecting with people and learning new things.”
The Service Controller is the person who keeps everything in motion during a workday, and ensures technicians are where they need to be. They also ensure that customer service requests are dealt with as quickly as possible, optimising the available resources at any one time.
In the Service Controller role, every day is different, and key day-to-day tasks consist of: liaising with customers, logging service calls, organising service personnel as well as documentation and paperwork.
When Mel isn’t coordinating the busy scheduling of Chatfield OzCool service jobs, she enjoys spending time with her family. With a keen interest in AFL (which may be a prerequisite when working at Chatfield OzCool!) as well as Basketball, she also likes to wind down on the weekends by cooking up a storm.
